Sometimes, you just have to freakin' relax!
It's a vicious cycle. You begin to do something, that just might help you acquire your dream of financial and personal freedom. But here is the kicker, that freedom is a long way off. This particular exercise requires many long hours of work and no unforeseeable time to rest. It requires you to keep going to continue to keep up gains of your success.
Here's the problem, for true success you do need to relax sometime.
How are you going to solve problems or gain fresh ideas if you are bone tired all the time?
You need a vacation. But often, life gets in the way of vacation.
1. You have no time to take a vacation
2. You have no money to PAY for a vacation
3. You have nobody to spend a vacation with
4. People are depending on you for their lively hood
5. It just looks bad if you take time off - what will people say?
So many excuses! Well, I've found a way to rejuvenate myself using the internet. It's not nearly as wonderful as an actual vacation. But a virtual vacation will do in a pinch -- follow me.
1. Schedule your vacation - Commit to an hour and fifteen minutes each day for the next 7 days of vacation time. You have to be faithful in this, no skipping days. If you are going to do it, you do it the whole 7 days.
2. Find a quiet, private space where you will not be interrupted, and disconnect -- which means turn your phone off! Turn all notification services off on your computer. No interruptions what so ever.
3. Start your computer (laptop or desktop) this is not going to work well with a mobile devices so don't try it.
4. Go through these websites
Do Nothing
http://www.donothingfor2minutes.com/
The challenge is to do nothing. This website helps you get in the mood for your mini-vacation by pushing you to do nothing for an entire 2 minutes. We are starting with this one, just as an exercise so you can learn to actually do nothing.
Take Moments
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pksb6-8xNkM
This video is very special to me. It is what made me realize that people have to just freakin' relax and contemplate life sometimes. Read the message in the video, it gets your mind centered on the "mini-vacation" you are about to embark in.
Nature Sounds
From K-MusicLife - Japanese Chillout a Youtube Channel with your choice of nature's most relaxing sounds. (skip the ads) These videos are an hour long.
5. During Nature Sounds -- Lay back, force your muscles to relax. Seriously, lay in a comfortable position and concentrate of relaxing all your muscles, start with your toes and work your way up to your head. Let your thoughts roam free into pleasant thoughts, long forgotten memories and silly wonderings. Don't worry about falling asleep, go ahead if you need to.
After watching these videos you have been on vacation for an entire hour. You have successfully embarked on a real, mental vacation. Now, go back to work, slowly after this or better yet, don't go back to work at all.

Does size matter?
Bigger Type? You decide.
I don't know if you noticed but my most recent post was in bigger type. I was wondering if my readers would like me to continue producing posts in a bigger type face. Is it okay? Is it easier to read? Let me know in the comments section below. If I get over 20 requests for larger type in the next week, then I will go back and update all my posts to larger type.
Sincerely,
Telemill

How about I make YOU rich!
I have decided to change the direction of my little blog
Telecommuting Millionaire.
Before
this date (January 2, 2013), this blog outlined my attempts at millionaire status. But life got in the way, tragedies happened, and the
recession forced me to change direction in my efforts, plans and goals.
Now, I haven’t given up on my study of wealth and financial
independence, but I’ve decided to re-focus. I’ve come to the conclusion that the road to wealth is best
traveled with friends, so instead of focusing on my own road to wealth, I think
I will focus on making all of you wealthy or at least financially independent.
Together we will explore how other people are successfully
working from home, building businesses, producing passive income and
gaining financial stability.
There are so many topics I want to explore, I would like to
explore these topics for you and hopefully assist you in your success (and
perhaps mine too).
Why not?
I
would love to know some wealthy, influential people – and if I can help you
become a wealthy influential person, all the better.
All this falls into my vow for 2013.
Telemill’s 2013 Vow:
I am going to take the opportunity to love on everyone I
encounter in 2013.
I’m gonna get
to know all of you better, love all of you a little harder, and grow
opportunities that much more.
Lord willing, I’m gonna make the day brighter for someone every day
while I still have breath in my body.
So, let's play!
----------------
You can make this blog better. Tell me what types of topics you want me to focus on. I'll be happy to write about things that actually help and entertain you. Or drop me a line at telemill at gmail. [You know what to do to send the e-mail, right?]

Procrastination is funny
[Click on the graphic to see it in full screen]
From the Chris Voss Show, I found this very funny because it is so true for me. Is it true for anyone else here? My friend Chris Voss has a lot of great information at his website www.thechrisvossshow.com.

What happened?
It's been awhile and there is good reason why . . .So many things have happened -- have changed in my life. In late 2008, I found out that my older sister was fighting cancer. It was a shock to all of us. You have no idea what a terminal illness does to a family. It nearly destroyed her marriage, and it totally changed my sister and her husband's working life . . . so much so that she ended up living with me until her death in the September 2009.
Immediately, my goals had to change. That's what happens you know . . . LIFE. Between taking care of my sister, dealing with marital issues wrapped in grief and poignant goodbyes, keeping home life as "normal as possible" for my children and my family's shifting financial needs -- my plans for financial freedom had to be put aside.
Six months before her death, the house we were renting (which fit my family perfectly even with my sister and her husband living with us -- went up for sale. She was in no condition to move and we could not purchase a house big enough for all of us with only my husband's salary. Because you see, due to the housing bubble popping and the banking industry making the rules on lending nearly ridiculous (after their crazy credit party of the years previously) - the money I made from my contract work meant nothing. They wanted to see W-2's to even consider lending to us.
I had to quickly find a W-2 job.
By the great kindness of my landlord -- they offered us first dibs on the house. And the fact that the Lord truly provides -- because soon after that, I found a job with a salary that was large enough to purchase the house. We began the process of purchasing the house we were living in. It was a short-sale. So there was a lot of "hurry up and find financial documentation and send it to us now" and then wait . . . and wait.
By the end of September 2009 there were . . . funeral arrangements, a 9 to 5 job schedule, kids beginning school, and many other things in life that one has to adjust to . . . and I did it all in a numb kind of limbo. And ironically, two days after I buried my sister, we signed the documents to the house. After six months, the short sale finally went through. I had made a step toward one of my goals . . . and I didn't care.
During the time of my sister's sickness, I was often angry and frustrated. There was so much I could have done if I had the "financial freedom" that I had been previously fighting for. She could have had better health care, an easier time of it. I would have been able to care for her more than get a "job" and be absent 9-10 hours a day to make sure there was a roof over everyone's head. I could have afforded the best nurses and day-care providers to make her life much more comfortable. We may have been able to afford some type of "new treatment" that would have extended her life or maybe cured her. All this could have happened if I would have tried for and succeeded in gaining financial freedom sooner. Why did I wait?
LIFE. Because life keeps happening to me. And I end up doing what everyone else does. Set aside my goals to handle the problems of life, instead of making plans to continue my goals around life. Making those contingencies that will help me take the steps toward my goal, even when life happens.
It's been almost a year since my sister's death, a year into owning my new home, over a year since I began my new job . . . and I'm looking around, feeling uncomfortable, still feeling frustrated and angry. My restlessness has helped me realize that I'm ready to take on my challenge again. It's time to make things better. To add value to life.
So, if you don't mind. Let's continue this journey. Pull up your belts and tie your shoes . . . I'm ready to get back on the "wild ride" to financial freedom. Let's go.

Rumors of my death . . .

Okay, folks I've been out of commission for a couple of weeks. No, I'm not dead. No, the blog is not dead. In fact I have over 100 posts ready to "become live" with a click of my finger. The problem with this is, Blogspot does not let you indicate automated future posting.
Oh Blogspot, when will you give us an "automated posting" feature? Truly, that's all I want for Christmas. I think I speak for many people using your wonderful system when I say that being able to write a blog post and indicate on what day it should go "live" would be so very wonderful. It would help busy people like me become much more consistent in our blog posting . . . thus allow you guys to hold on to your large blog audience . . . thus create more revenue for you. Please, please ole' great programmers in the sky of blog universe -- could you make this happen for us lowly bloggers?
Just for my readers, I didn't forget about you. I just couldn't lift my head from the pillow for a week. And then last week I had to catch up on work (you, know the thing that pays the bills? -- I'm not a millionaire yet). But I'm back now, so look for more help in finding telecommuting jobs, more discussion on mad schemes to make more money, and tips on how to KEEP said money.
Thanks for understanding.

Why Are You Doing This?
This online journal is a grand experiment -- an experiment to see if the advice given in blogs, books, magazines, etc. is really true. Yes, I am telling you, admitting to you, and confessing to you that this blog is a money-making venture. But, I hope it is a money-making venture that can be repeated by you, the reader. My intent: to give you a blow-by-blow account of what I am doing to become wealthy, so you too can also become wealthy -- just by watching and learning from my efforts, mistakes and successes.
[Two fingers up, hand over my heart in true girl-scout oath position:]
[Two fingers up, hand over my heart in true girl-scout oath position:]
- I will try very hard to make this website easy-reading.
- I promise to try to not get in your (or my) way to success.
- I will do this all from my home office.
- I pledge to help you (the reader) by making the stupid and often money-sapping mistakes all wealth-seekers tend to make.
- My goal is to ultimately give you -- through my sacrifices -- a “heads up” to a more successful you.
