You don't need to like me, that's my job

Whenever you let someone else give you value you lose confidence.

~ Ralph Smart (founder of Infinite Waters YouTube Channel)

I could just kick myself.  How many years did it take for me to realize that my job -- my only real job on this planet -- is to "like myself."

It's not someone else job . . . and wanting someone else to like you so much that it gives you a feeling of value, is selfishly demanding that other people DO YOUR JOB!  You are a lazy bum, asking other people to do your work! And we all know that no one else, can do your job better than you.  Seriously.

And we get mad at people because they don't do our job better than we do it.  We sit back, truly upset and hurt because people don't see our value, don't give us awards or rewards, don't acknowledge us.  How silly.  Of course they don't value, reward or acknowledge us, it's not their job to do so.  It's our job to do it for our own damned selves!

Yes, I know.  I can hear you with your many questions:

Why is it important that you "like"  or "love" yourself?
When you love yourself you take back your life, you take back your power.  When you like or love yourself, you have room to love and like others.  When you are waiting for the approval of others, you are wasting energy that you could used for better things.  When you like yourself, it's much easier to let go of society's expectations. When you let go of society's expectations, you are free to develop your own expectations --which are much more satisfying expectations, believe me. In essence, liking yourself sets you free.

Ok, so how do you "like" or "love" yourself?
Accept "who you are" today, with all your faults and problems.  In fact, all those faults and imperfections make you the unique person that you are.  Embrace your uniqueness.  Don't believe me?  Okay. Think of someone you really loved and admired that are no longer in your life for whatever reason . . . you graduated and are no longer in touch, they moved away, they died. Think of the most memorable thing about them.  Now think of the most funny thing about them.  I bet somewhere in those memories, there is something that one might label a "fault".  But in your mind it is the most endearing thing about them, the most unique, the thing that made them . . . them.

This was expressed really well by Robin Williams in this movie clip from Good Will Hunting:

What are the steps I need to take to like myself?
Easy, find the thing that is the most productive thing you like to do that makes you happy.
What do you like to do?:
  • Do you like to building things?
  • Do you like football?
  • Do you like to write?
  • Do you like to sing?
  • Do you like to make things beautiful?
  • Do you like taking care of people?
What makes you your most happiest?  Whatever it may be, make time for it.  My grandmother used to say that we are all creators, that we all inherited the "creator" gene from God and we are the happiest when we are creating. Doing what you like to do most, is "creating", is "joy" is being closest to "who you where meant to be."  Stop comparing yourself to others and work on what makes you like yourself.  That's the first, and really, only step to liking yourself.

Liking yourself is very, very, important.  Because once you like yourself, you can be yourself.  You don't mind your own company.  People are always giving the advice to "be yourself," but if you can't stand yourself, if you don't like the person you are, if you don't like your own company (your inner thoughts, your imperfections, your life, the things you do, etc.) how in the hell can you stand to be with yourself!

You have to like yourself to be able to tolerate yourself to be able to be yourself!

Weird.  Yet, simple and common sense at the same time.

So, ultimately.  My job is to give value to myself.
To give value to myself, I have to acknowledge and accept all the good that I am, all the bad that I am and all the imperfections that I have.
I have to get to know myself and then get to "liking" myself.
I need to get comfortable with myself and enjoy my own company.
I need to do my job . . . and learn to like myself.

What you focus on grows . . .

Do you want to grow your problems?

Apparently, I used to love growing my problems. Seriously, I used to look at my financial situation (which was pretty bad) and focus on what I was lacking.  I did this constantly, worrying about when and where the next dollar was going to come from. I would see bills and freak out.  An unexpected expense would put me in a tizzy.  All day long I was trying to figure out, how I was going to pay this or that. I would get really angry because everywhere around me people were driving better cars, whipping out their platinum or red credit cards, shopping for frivolous stuff for crying out loud and I couldn't even pay for essential things, like food, heat, gas!

I would clip coupons, skip lunch, plan what I could sell on e-bay next, try to hunt down a side-job I could do on weekends, because I needed, needed, needed more money and I just didn't have enough.  I never had enough.   I just couldn't make ends meet in my head.  And it didn't help that bill collectors started calling.  Urgh!  Reminding me every day that I just didn't have enough money.

I obsessed over it (this lack of money), not realizing that I was growing my problem.  What you obsess over, you grow.  Repeat that 10 times.

Do you want to know what made me break out of obsessing on my lack of money and made me realize that if I just changed my thinking just a little bit, that things would change?  When I began writing the series "Money is Everywhere: 50 Ways to Make Quick Extra Income".

I'm still not done writing that series of articles, because guess what . . . when I began concentrating on simple ways to make money -- it began to happen. I began to make more money.  I was able to pay some of my bills.  And I told myself, well I can do more of this and take care of more of problems.  And I realized that truly money was everywhere and all I had to do was access it. Then a crazy thing happened, more money began to come my way.

My eyes were opened, I began to see all the little ways I could make more money.  Then I took ACTION.  I began making more money and got so wrapped up in making more money that I lost track of the series and now I have to play catch-up because . . . guess what?  I found even more ways to make extra money!

We are all amazing people, and truly we are the children of God.  Whatever our minds focus on, we can make happen.  We can make anything grow, even our negative, doubtful things! As you sow, so shall you reap.

What did I do to change my circumstances?  I refocused my mind and showed myself that money (or the potential to make money) was all around me, plentiful and there to do it's job . . . help me to pay my bills.  The more I focused positively on the abundance  and plentifulness of money around me, the more it comes to me.  This will work on anything that you focus on.  Try it.

Do you want love in your life?  Then love on people.  Go out, get to know people and love them.  Gather love around you.  Tell yourself everyday that love is out there waiting for you, waiting to rain down on you and all you have to do is meet enough people and you will find it -- everywhere.

Do you want a better career, a career that you love and wouldn't mind waking each day to do?  Then tell yourself that your dream job is out there.  Listen to audio and video of people doing their dream job.  And then do the thing you want to do . . . for FREE, whenever you can.  The opportunity will come that will let you do that thing you like doing (your dream job) for a living.

It's all about how and what you focus on. Listen, not just what you focus on but how you focus on it.

So tell me people, what good thing do YOU want in your life?  How are you going to think, concentrate, focus on it from now on? Do you want to grow your good things in life? Share with me please!

Telejobs: NCR

Who is NCR?

Man, NCR is everywhere!  The next time you go to the store or do any payment transaction, look closely at the machine being used and you'll probably see NCR.

NCR is a global technology company that is EVERYWHERE.  They began in 1884 by John H. Patterson with the name National Cash Register Company (see where NCR comes from)?  They were the makers of the first mechanical cash registers.  Pretty cool, huh?  Anyway, they grew and now they estimate that they make more than 300 million transactions per DAY.  And guess what?  They have plenty of jobs just waiting to be filled.  Not only that, they have plenty of jobs that are jobs you can do from anywhere if you have the knowledge and the skill.

This company is a good, stable company to work for if you are lucky enough to get a position with them. So here's the deal . . .

Go to:  NCR Career webpage
In the keyword box put in any of these words:  "remote", "virtual" or "anywhere"

You will receive a list of jobs that you can do remotely or from anywhere.  Telecommuting jobs!

Happy Hunting and Good Luck!

Luxury Living: Free movies & private screenings

Do you ever get really angry when you hear about celebrities and influential people driving up to theaters or going to a big swanky house with a "theatre" in it so they can watch a movie that has come out to the general public yet?  I don't know about you, but I hate those people . . . okay, hate is a intense term but why do they get to see the movie before me?  Why do they get to see the movie for nothing and I've got to fork over like $15.00!

Well, now kiddies, I'm going to tell you how to watch movies for free, movies that have not come out for the general public yet.  Lots of people do it! And so can you.

Get Free Tickets

Did you know that large metro areas have private screenings of movies and offer people FREE tickets to go to those said movies?

To get these tickets you need to register at one of these websites:

Advance Screenings
Cinemit
FilmMetro
Gofobo
SeeitFirst.com (Disney Movies)
Wildaboutmovies
43kix.com

Okay, before you get these tickets you need to know something about these screenings.

(1) Tickets go quickly so check the sites often.

(2) Additional passes are sometimes offered after the screening "says" sold out, check back even if it has sold out.

(3) On the night of the movie, get there at minimum an hour early.  They try to over-fill the theater because they want to pack the theatre. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis and when the house fills up, you are out of luck.

(4) Bathroom run vs. entering theatre? If you need to go to the bathroom, go get your seat first before going to the bathroom.  (You'll thank me later, believe me)

(5) Don't take out your phone at all!  They will take it away or kick you out because they will naturally assume you are recording the movie.

Other ways to see a free movie

Get a job at the movie theatre, part-time or full-time. All theatre employees get to see the movies before anyone else does.

Other ways to feel like a celebrity on movie night

Go to the movies on a Sunday night, last show. . . no one will be at the theater because they are all getting ready to go to work Monday morning.  Usually the whole theatre is empty except for the theatre employees.  Which means you have the whole theatre to yourself, with a crew waiting to serve you.  Happy private screening!
